GoFood, the first and only home-grown food delivery app and website run by restaurant owners, is now live and available for download on ioS and Android. Be it at work or in the comfort of their homes, customers can now order their favourite meals from more than 2000 restaurants currently on the platform. From local favourites to hidden gems, high-end restaurants to your neighbourhood café, and regular take-out option, GoFood has the UAE covered.
Designed to help restaurants lower delivery costs and manage their expenses and data better, GoFood’s ethical business model of low commissions makes it an exciting choice for both restaurants and customers. As GoFood is directly run by the restaurant owners themselves, delivery fees goes directly to the restaurants as well. There are no membership or signing fees and by their patronage, customers have the added bonus of directly supporting their favourite local restaurants by ensuring the restaurants do not pay high commissions to third party aggregators.
“Restaurants were making a loss on every order through the existing delivery apps. Beyond the fees, during the global pandemic, we realized that they weren’t being good partners by refusing to lower exorbitant commissions. A group of seasoned restaurant operators with over a 100+ years of combined industry experience has, therefore, come together to deliver a solution that supports both restaurant operators and gives the customer an ethical alternative to the current trend,” said Shanavas Mohammed, one of GoFood’s founders and the managing director of Golden Fork Seafood Restaurants.
“Our customers are part of Generation Go. They exude passion for food and their community and are vocal about local. They want to do the right thing and truly make a difference with every food order. With GoFood they will,” he added. For a limited period, customers will also receive a whopping AED 200 worth of loyalty points when they download the app.
“Greed is good but trust is even better. By joining the platform these restaurants have put their faith in us and we are so grateful. We know that this is a sustainable model that is certain to help restaurants survive these trying times and come out stronger. We also know that the GoFood premise will resonate with the UAE’s discerning audience and we cannot wait to welcome Generation Go onto the platform,” added Naveed Dowlatshahi, CEO, GoFood.
